Hello, I’m John Edgar, founder of Knutsford Stained Glass and a traditional stained glass craftsman based in the heart of Cheshire, in the village of Over Peover.

My journey into stained glass began over 18 years ago, sparked by a simple love for heritage, storytelling, and craft. What started out as a hobby quickly became something much deeper – a calling. Over the years, I’ve poured my time and energy into mastering the traditional skills and techniques that make stained glass such a unique and expressive art form.

Knutsford Stained Glass was born from that passion – a desire to keep these time-honoured methods alive while creating something meaningful for others. Today, I design and handcraft bespoke stained glass panels, windows, and restorations for private homes, churches, and heritage buildings across the region.

Each piece I create is made with care and respect – for the craft, the materials, and the people it’s made for. My inspiration often comes from local architecture, the countryside around us, and the rich history of stained glass design in the UK.
